A suspicious plane leaving South Florida with weapons on board and thousands of dollars in cash was intercepted on Saturday, and two Venezuelans were arrested in an operation announced Tuesday by US officials.
Agents from the Fort Lauderdale Marine Unit, north of Miami, have been alerted to the movement of a Learjet aircraft in connection with an ongoing investigation, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statement said.
Officials from various agencies responded to stop the plane, which was heading for the Caribbean island of St. Vincent.
